Processo de solda em aço carbono.

Carbon steel is a material of great durability and resistance which imbues these characteristics in our products and components. The solidness and the cohesion of steel pieces, united by weld techniques, constitute an inextricable union that guarantees safety in the use and handling of our products. Laser cuts, well-executed folds, and welds constitute a continuous and fluid perception at the length of the transition of each component. Along with high-quality painting, products with metallic components ensure great physical and mechanical integrity that can lengthen not only the products’ lifespan as their aesthetic unity.

MARTINS, Nilce Sant’Anna. O Léxico de Guimarães Rosa. 3ª ed. São Paulo: Editora da Universidade de São Paulo, 2020.

The expression Riba, registered by Guimarães Rosa in several of his works, is a reference to the popular language which is typical from the country of Brazil. It’s a word used to refer to someplace that is located above the speaker or to the highest point of a certain area. Through a word-object symbiosis, the meaning of the word Riba is materialized in the shelving system itself.

The structure of the bookcase ensures its stability due to being a floor-ceiling mounted bookcase. Consequently, the bookcase doesn’t require any drilling for its installation. Its mounting system at the top of the uprights, always seeking to support the bookcase in high places, such as ceilings and high walls, is the characteristic that finds inspiration in its name.

Capable of taking linear or sinuous shapes, the Riba bookcase can be an amorphous product due to its wide capacity for customization. The assembly’s simplicity is highlighted by the lever-operated junction system that lower the amount of screws needed to keep the shelves in place. Through the reduction of the number of components, the Riba bookcase was developed to get the most out of their union elements, being the result of a careful project of comprehension of mechanical, aesthetic, and functional efforts, as well as a reflection upon Rosa’s works.
