We are proud to work with experienced professionals and in the case of finishing, we entrust our pieces only to professionals who carry decades of experience in painting. Only time can make a professional reference of what he does, eyes that can see what many eyes do not see, hands that carry skills acquired not only by repetition but by the passion to make a product a finished piece. The precision of the application of each fan that comes out of the spray gun, the thorough review of each product surface, are characteristics that we observe and value, as we know that the finish is an important aspect of the relationship between people and objects.

Gruta Lapa Doce, Chapada Diamantina, Bahia.

Den, grotto, or Lapa cavern are some of the names given to a rock formation that originated from the dissolution of carbonated rocks like marble and limestone. It consists of a horizontal entry formed by a big stone that, against a cliff, makes a shelter. The juxtaposition of two wide planes of the coffee table constitutes an aesthetic that is associated with the rock formation that gives it its name. This piece of furniture also pays homage to the several Lapas in the state of São Paulo, elevated regions of recent urbanization, with special significance to the Alto da Lapa neighborhood which was an urban project developed by English architect Berry Parker and funded by City Company in 1920.

From a constructive and aesthetic point of view, the Lapa coffee table has its surfaces shaped after irregular polygons, establishing the essence of the piece’s aesthetic guidelines. Each plane has a portion formed by a divergent straight line that broadens, generously, the surface, offering more functionality to the piece. Simple shapes and geometrical relations align themselves so that they can be a symbiotic balance between aesthetics and functionality. In turn, from a general point of view, the piece seeks the status of organicity due to the convergence of the subtle curves that make up the opposite sides of the coffee table. As a focal point, the two planes overlap was carefully planned to project a shadow over the lower plane simultaneously hiding the structure that supports the piece while making the relation between them in a harmonic and light way.

The Lapa coffee table is, therefore, a piece of furniture that seeks to explore the beauty of simplifying shapes and the precise sizing of the components, but mainly, bestow aesthetic and functionality upon a piece through apparently simple solutions that yet carry a universe of technical, objective and conceptual solutions.
